Apito – Barefoot elegance on St. John, USVI

Book Now! Apito is a casually elegant and very private home on the island of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. NO PASSPORT REQUIRED for American citizens!

Welcome to Apito!

Apito - (Ah-pee'-toe) - The name is inspired by the language of the early inhabitants of St. John; the peaceful, Taino Indians. Roughly translated, it means "Infinity", which both describes the view and the length of time many guests may wish to stay here once they've discovered this fully air-conditioned, two bedroom pool villa hideaway.

Completed in June of 2009 and meticulously maintained, this home was built and furnished with the complete comfort and relaxation of guests in mind. It is ecologically sensitive yet delightfully fun and upscale, located high atop Mamey Peak, near the geographic center of the island and less than a 5-minute drive to the famous North Shore beaches!

Apito is Paradise on Earth! My family and I spent a week at Apito in March of 2011. The pictures do not do this villa justice. The architecture and furnishings are gorgeous and the provisions (pots, pans, glasses, plates, spices, detergents, paper products, toiletries, beach chairs, beach towels, gas grill, serving dishes, books, videos) are top-notch. If I could give it 10 stars out of 5...I would do so. Amazing....

Apito...the best place to stay on St. John My husband and I returned to Apito for a second time last month. We know there are so many other places to stay on STJ, but there's something special about Apito, and we know it'll be our choice next time, too.

Just got back from a two week stay on STJ, one of which was spent at Apito. The villa is fantastic, with beautiful decor, fantastic views, and seclusion which was perfect for our honeymoon. The owners have supplied virtually every amenity needed, from beach towels to spices for cooking which eliminated the need to purchase anything other than food. Well done Apito!

Beautiful villa!! Cozy and upscale. Very well appointed. Nice, secluded location overlooking Coral Bay and Norman Island to the south. Nice breezes. Everything we could have ever needed was furnished. Can't wait to come back....to both St John and Apito!!

Apito is a hidden jewel My husband and I stayed at Apito from Sept. 12 -20. We were beyond pleased with all aspects of our vacation. The island itself is breathtaking and Apito is built in a way that really takes advantage of the views. The house had a very upscale feel to it, while still being casual and tropical. The pool was just amazing! My favorite island has always been Kauai but I do believe St. John has now stolen my heart!

Tom & Lori Buttermore

My name is Tom. Lori and I have two boys Alex and Conner, although they were much younger when all of this began. My first trip to St. John was in 1978 when my parents chartered a bareboat out of Tortola for a three week vacation. Needless to say, I fell in love with the islands, and the hook was firmly set.

Our first trip to the Virgin Islands as a family finally occurred in 1997. Over the years, we have always dreamed of owning a little piece of this rock, and that dream became a reality late in 2005.
